How to Hide System Reserved Partition – An All-Inclusive Guide

Basically, there are three methods used to hide system reserved partitions efficiently in Windows 2, 8, and 10. These are as follows:

    Method 1 — Using DISKPART

System Reserved partitions may be hidden using Diskpart, a command-line disc partitioning tool.

Step#1. Make use of the command line.

Step#2. When prompted, type diskpart and then click Enter.

Step#3. Enter the command list disc.

Step#4. Press Enter after typing choose disc 0 & hitting Enter.

Step#5. Enter the command list partition. You should be able to see the System Reserved partition of the list. In this example, we’ll be using partition 1.

Step#6. Enter “select partition 1” into the text box and hit the Enter key.

Step#7. Press Enter to type in the partition details. Type:07, Hidden: No should be shown if the right partition has been chosen. No, I am not.

Step#8. Press Enter to complete the command set id=17. Partition 0x07 (Hidden NTFS) will be changed to 0x17 (NTFS) and will thus no longer be hidden.

Step#9. Press Enter to type in the partition details. If the partition is now 17 and concealed, then you’re good to go! The partition’s label and volume information should be shown.

Method 2 — Using Disk Management

System Reserved partitions let you remove a drive letter if necessary. The partition will no longer be visible in File Explorer if the drive letter has been deleted.

Step#1. To activate the Run dialogue, press W+R. Enter diskmgmt.msc in the dialogue box.

Step#2. Disk Management will be launched.

Step#3. Change the drive letter and path by right-clicking the drive you wish to conceal.

Step#4. Remove the allocated drive letter by clicking the “Remove” button. Then click Yes when the warnings appear.
You have now efficiently hidden your disc or any partition on the Windows PC by following the aforementioned instructions. It will thereafter be unable to access the System Reserved partition.

Method 3 — Utilizing Partition Assistant of AOMEI

You may use AOMEI Partition Assistant, a third-party partition manager, instead of Disk Management and Diskpart.exe. A user-friendly interface allows you to conceal and unhide a partition on a hard disc. It simplifies and expedites the process of carrying out the operation.
    The steps are as follows:

Step#1. Open AOMEI Partition Assistant once it has been installed. Using the right-click menu, choose “Advanced >Hide Partition”.

Step#2. In Windows, you’ll get a warning like this one: “Hiding this partition may result in the drive letters of this disc being altered.” No, I don’t want to conceal it. To proceed, click OK.

Step#3. To complete the process, just click the Apply button. System Reserved will be hidden from other users after this.

    Tips & Tricks:

    • Until you unhide the partition, it is inaccessible.
    • A new drive letter will be assigned at random to a previously hidden partition once you unhide it. There is a chance that you will get a specific drive letter that is different from the original one you had before.
